The opportunity.

ETISK is partnering with an Australian womenswear ecommerce brand to recruit a Head of Buying. This founder-led business has a clear understanding of its customer: women looking for beautiful, wearable fashion that makes them feel their best. Getting the product right means understanding their lives, their preferences and what keeps them coming back.

You’ll join the executive leadership team, working directly with the founder and COO to shape the business’s direction and develop the buying and product strategy behind it.

You’ll lead buying and oversee planning, supported by a Senior Planner managing day-to-day planning activity. It’s a broad remit connecting product vision, range development, people leadership and commercial performance.

What you’ll own.

  • Set the product direction. Develop a buying vision grounded in customer insight, market trends and commercial opportunity, then translate it into clear priorities for the team.
  • Build ranges customers want. Lead range selection and development, balancing newness and creativity with wearability, relevance and profitability.
  • Connect buying and planning. Oversee open-to-buy budgets and seasonal plans, working with the Senior Planner to guide investment and respond to trading performance.
  • Drive revenue and profit through sales analysis, pricing, promotional activity and product life-cycle decisions.
  • Develop the team. Coach and mentor your people, build capability and succession plans, and create clear accountability for performance.
  • Strengthen supplier partnerships through effective negotiation and relationships that support competitive pricing, quality and reliable delivery.
  • Bring the business together around product, working closely with Marketing and other teams to align campaigns, launches and seasonal direction.

What you’ll bring.

  • A strong womenswear buying background, an eye for commercially successful product and experience leading people.
  • Experience in an online or fast-moving womenswear business where customer feedback, short lead times and trading performance inform buying decisions.
  • Product development and design experience.
  • Strong retail maths, budgeting and open-to-buy management, with a sound understanding of planning and merchandising principles.
  • Supplier management and negotiation experience, including working with suppliers in China.
  • An understanding of ecommerce and how digital and social activity influence customer demand.
  • Confidence using buying, planning and reporting systems alongside Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Clear communication, sound judgement and a practical approach when priorities change.
  • A leadership style that sets an ambitious direction, welcomes ideas, develops people and addresses challenges directly.

Why consider it.

  • For someone who loves product and wants a meaningful voice in the decisions shaping a business, this is a compelling next move. You’ll contribute to the growth strategy and lead the function responsible for delivering a significant part of it.
  • The business values honest communication, collaboration, customer focus and financial ownership. It suits someone who takes responsibility, shares ideas and enjoys working closely with others to make things happen.
  • You’ll be close to the founder, close to the customer and close to the commercial impact of your decisions.
  • ETISK will share the brand and full role profile during a confidential conversation so you can get a proper feel for the opportunity.
