Overview

If you’re in Buying or Planning and looking for a unique role where you’ll have real influence over how international brands land in Australia and New Zealand – this is it.

This business manages a portfolio of mid-to-premium fashion and accessory brands (watches, jewellery, leather goods) that you’ll definitely recognise. Global names, but with a local team that’s tight-knit, supportive, and ambitious. They design, market and distribute under licence some of the biggest lifestyle brands in the world

The role isn’t about sitting in the back office crunching spreadsheets. It’s about shaping assortments, making sure product and campaigns land on time, and bringing the story of these brands to life across ANZ. You’ll work closely with global and local teams, and manage two direct reports across VM and inventory.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the Go-To-Market process for ANZ – from seasonal assortment planning to execution.
  • Build consumer-focused assortments in partnership with global teams.
  • Manage product offerings, pricing, promotions, forecasting and inventory to hit sales and market share targets.
  • Work with sales, marketing and VM to deliver seasonal campaigns.
  • Lead a small team (VM and Inventory Controller) to ensure execution across retail and wholesale.
  • Report market insights and sales recaps back to global and regional leads.
  • Localise global tools (seasonal decks, assortment grids) for the ANZ market.
  • Keep a sharp eye on competitors and trends.
  • Travel occasionally to stores and markets to understand what’s working and what’s not.

What we’re looking for

  • A product-focused operator – ideally from a buying or planning background.
  • Strong understanding of assortments, GTM, and how to bring product stories to life.
  • Experience with international brands (fashion, lifestyle, accessories).
  • Energy, confidence, and the ability to get teams excited about product.
  • Attention to detail with the smarts to spot gaps and improve processes.
  • Some leadership exposure – able to coach and support two direct reports.
  • Tech savvy (SAP/Navision a plus).

This is a role for someone who wants to step out of a narrow buying/planning lane and into something broader – combining strategy, execution, product and people management.
